Was sind ihre Hoffnungen für diese COP23? Er ist hier, um in den Austausch zu kommen, mit Menschen, die direkt vom Klimawandel betroffen sind. Sein Wunsch: Die ganze Gemeinschaft der Franziskanerbrüder und -schwestern dafür zu gewinnen, sich für die Begrenzung des Klimawandels zu engagieren. Wir haben einen faszinierenden Papst, sagte er, aber an der Basis ist noch viel zu tun. Er hat schon wertvolle Erfahrungen gemacht bei der Zusammenarbeit mit Umweltorganisationen, zum Beispiel Friends of the Earth. Wir konnten viel voneinander lernen, sagte er.

What are their hopes for COP23? Why are they here, what do they want to achieve?
If you ask them you´ll get certainly a friendly answer. For examply by brother Rufino Lim, currently located in Rome. He is here to get in contact with people who are directly affected by climate change. He hopes to bring this experience to the community of Franciscan and to inspire his brothers and sisters to engage for climate change mitigation. We have a fascinating pope, he said but there is a lot to do on the ground. He has good experiences n collaborating with grassroots organisations, e.g. Friends of the Earth. „We learned a lot from each other“, he said.
