Bonn, den 10.6.2022 (Gesa  Maschkowski)  Ich möchte zum Auftakt dieser Veranstaltung über das  Glück sprechen und über den Mut große Baustellen anzugehen, denn wir brauchen beides…

Glück ist wenn wir eine gute Beziehung haben zu den Menschen und zur Natur, wenn wir im Frieden leben miteinander und mit unserer Heimat, Erde.

Die gute Beziehung zu unseren blauen Planeten Erde ist gestört, das spüren wir  schmerzhaft.  Deswegen finden in diesen Tagen auf der anderen Seite des Rheins internationale Klimaverhandlungen statt  – in Vorbereitung auf die nächsten Klimakonferenz, die Bonn Climate Change Conference. Menschen aus aller Welt sind deswegen nach Bonn gekommen

Wir sind heute hier, um die besten Ideen dafür zu finden wie wir in Bonn in Zukunft gut leben können. Denn wir nehmen das 1,5 Grad Ziel ernst.

Warum wir Glück haben

Wenn wir in die Weltkugel hineinzoomen dann finden wir am schönen Rhein ein Städtchen, das sich mit dem Klimawandel nicht abfinden will. Über 70 Initiativen finden Sie schon auf dem neuen Bonner Nachhaltigkeitsstadtplan von Bonn4Future und es werden immer mehr. Denn Viele Bonner:innen setzen sich für eine positive Zukunft und ein gutes Miteinander ein..

Bonn hat das große Glück, dass wir eine starke Fridays4Future Bewegung haben. Sie haben klar gemacht, dass auch hier in Bonn etwas ganz und gar nicht in Ordnung ist. Heute Nachmittag stehen sie in Bonn auf dem Platz der Vereinten Nationen vor den Toren der Konferenzsäle und fordern dass es schneller geht, dass endlich die Weichen für den Klimaschutz gestellt werden. Und sie haben Recht. Danke dass Ihr da seid!

Im November 2019 hat der Stadtrat in Bonn einen dringenden und mutigen Beschluss gefasst. Alle Parteien haben gemeinsam entschieden, dass Bonn klimaneutral werden soll – spätestens bis 2035. Als der politische Beschluss im November 2019 fiel, gab es keinen Plan für das klimaneutrale Bonn und auch keine Beteiligung.

„Wenn wir 2035 in einer Stadt leben wollen, in der wir kein Öl und Gas mehr brauchen, in das Leben einfach und schön ist, dann wird ganz Bonn in den nächsten Jahren zur Baustelle“.

Die Baustellen werden sich mindestens verzehnfachen. Das betrifft uns alle und das braucht einen langen Atem.

So kam es zu Bonn4Future

Deswegen haben wir als Verein Bonn im Wandel e.V. gemeinsam mit der Klimawache Bonn ein großes Beteiligungsverfahren beantragt. Wir stehen für eine positive Vision von dieser Stadt und für die Überzeugung dass Menschen das Gute wollen. Und wir stehen seit 10 Jahren für Wandelprojekte, die wir in dieser Stadt ganz konkret umsetzen von Lastenrädern bis zu solidarischen Landwirtschaft.

Wir haben unseren Bürgerantrag  Bonn4Future genannt, denn wir wollen dass alle in Bonn eine Zukunft haben. Und wir haben inzwischen 70 Unterstützer:innen an Bord.

Und noch einmal hatten wir Glück: In der Stadt Bonn stießen wir auf offene Ohren und Türen. Fast alle politischen Parteien haben dafür gestimmt diese Bürgerbeteiligung zu fördern. Deshalb befinden uns heute hier. Aus dem Antrag von zwei Initiativen wurde das bisher größte Beteiligungsverfahren Bonns. Konzipiert von Bonn im Wandel e.V. und umgesetzt in Kooperation mit der Stadt Bonn. So etwas gibt es nach unserer Kenntnis in keiner anderen deutschen Stadt.

Was müssen wir schaffen?

Das wissen wir seit dem letzten Klimaforum. Sie sehen hier die 3 grünen Flüsse. Das ist die CO2 Reduktion die wir schaffen müssen.

 

Und so sieht die Lage aus:

• Alle Maßnahmen die bisher beschlossen wurden bringen 1 % Reduktion.
• ·Die Stadt Bonn kann bis zu 42 % Reduktion in Gang setzen, z.B durch Veränderung der Strom- und Wärmeversorgung oder des Verkehrs.
• Und die Stadtgesellschaft ist für 53 % verantwortlich

Wir brauchen einander,um diese große Herausforderung zu bewältigen!

Wie gehen wir vor, um das zu schaffen?

Im ersten Klimaforum haben wir uns der Zukunft gewidmet: Wie sieht Bonn aus, wenn es lebenswert und klimaneutral ist? Davon erzählen 27 Zukunftsbilder.

Am Ende von Bonn4future, soll der Bonner Klimaplan stehen. Zwei große Prozesse zahlen darauf ein. Ein Gutachten, das die Stadt Bonn in Auftrag gegeben hat und wir mit dem Mitwirkungsverfahren Bonn4Future. Ende 2022 wollen wir dann den Plan für Bonn haben. Wir wollen wissen, was muss wann passieren, wer muss wann was tun?

Jetzt im Juni 2022 arbeiten wir an guten Ideen für die Veränderung. Und zwar an den größten Baustellen der Stadt  nämlich Mobilität und Wohnen.

Und so gehen wir auf diesem Klimaforum vor

Heute am Freitag werden Sie von Expert:innen erfahren welche Ziele wir im Bereich Wohnen und Mobilität erreichen müssen und wie das aussehen könnte. Wissenschaftler:innen und Verwaltung werden ihre Fragen beantworten.

Morgen, Samstag ist der Tag der guten Ideen. Wir brauchen Sie als Expert:innen für Bonn. Wir brauchen ihr Wissen und ihre Erfahrungen um herauszufinden, wie wir es schaffen können, dass wir in Bonn diese Ziele erreichen. Sie werden hier in unseren Transformationslabor an Veränderungsstrategien für das Klimaneutrale Bonn arbeiten

Nach 1,5 Tagen haben Sie sich gegenseitig über 2000 Stunden geschenkt. Sie sind dann Expert:innen für die Herausforderungen.  Sie werden Empfehlungen erarbeiten wie wir das schaffen können, was es braucht, damit alle Bürger:innen etwas verändern können, was die Stadt tun muss, die Wirtschaft, die Medien und andere Akteur:innen.

Und sie brauchen nicht zu warten, bis irgendjemand anderes etwas tut. Sie können heute abend und morgen schon starten. Im Hof finde Sie

• Die Fotobox, hier können Sie  Ihre Botschaften an die Bonner:innen senden,
• Bei der Mitmachstation erfahren Sie, wer schon in Bonn aktiv ist, und sie können eigen Mitmachideen aufhängen

Ich möchte diese Veranstaltung den Kindern widmen, die das Vertrauen haben, dass wir Erwachsene gut für sie sorgen. Und  bin dankbar für die einmalige Chance die wir hier haben, nämlich gemeinsam an der Zukunft  von Bonn zu arbeiten.

A warm welcome! I am happy to welcome our Lord Mayor, thank you for your appreciation and that you are here with us for the kick-off Mrs. Dörner, welcome dear guests, citizens, representatives of the city of Bonn, initiatives, organizations and companies, dear Bonn in Change Team, dear moderators, dear helpers, thank you for being here, thank you for all the people who make it possible for us to be here. Thank you to the Brotfabrik for allowing us to be here today and for besieging the entire Brotfabrik!

I would like to start this event by talking about happiness and about the courage to tackle big building sites, because we need both.

„Happiness is when we have a good relationship with other people and with nature, when we live in peace with each other and with our home, Earth“.

The good relationship with our blue planet Earth is disturbed, we feel this painfully.

That is why international climate negotiations are taking place these days on the other side of the Rhine in preparation for the next climate conference, the Bonn Climate Change Conference. People from all over the world have come to Bonn for this

We are here today to find the best ideas for how we can live well in Bonn in the future. because we take the 1.5 degree target seriously.

If we zoom into the globe, we find a small city on the beautiful Rhine that does not want to accept climate change. More than 70 initiatives can already be found on Bonn4Future’s new sustainability city map, and the number is growing all the time. Many citizens of Bonn are committed to a positive future and good coexistence.

Bonn is very lucky that we have a strong Fridays4Future movement They have pointed out very clearly that something is also very wrong here in Bonn. This afternoon they are standing on the United Nations square in Bonn in front of the gates of the conference halls, demanding that things move faster, that the course for climate protection finally be set. And they are right. Thank you!

In November 2019, the Bonn City Council made an urgent and courageous decision. All parties jointly decided that Bonn should become climate neutral – by 2035 at the latest.

If we want to live in a city in 2035 where we no longer need oil and gas, where life is simple and beautiful, then all of Bonn will become a construction site in the next few years. The number of construction sites will increase at least tenfold. That affects all of us and that takes a long breath. When the political decision was made in November 2019, there was no plan for climate-neutral Bonn and no participation.

That’s why we, as the Bonn im Wandel e.V. association, together with the Climate Watch Bonn, applied for a major participation process.

„We stand for a positive vision of this city and for the conviction that people want the good“.

And we stand for 10 years for change projects that we implement in this city very concretely from cargo bikes to solidarity agriculture. We called the participation process Bonn4Future, because we want everyone in Bonn to have a future. And we had 70 supporters on board.

And once again we were lucky: In the city of Bonn we found open ears and doors. Almost all political parties decided to support this citizen participation. That is why we are here today. The application of 2 initiatives turned into Bonn’s largest participation process so far. Conceived by Bonn im Wandel e.V. and implemented in cooperation with the city of Bonn. To our knowledge, there is nothing like this in any other German city.

What do we need to create?

We know that since the last climate forum. You see here the 3 green rivers. This is the CO2 reduction that we have to create. And this is the situation:

•  All the measures that have been adopted so far bring 1% reduction.
• The city of Bonn can initiate up to 42 % reduction, e.g. by changing the electricity and heat supply or the traffic.
• And the city society is responsible for 53 %.

We need each other to meet this big challenge

How do we proceed to accomplish this?

• – In the first climate forum, we dedicated ourselves to the future: What will Bonn look like when it is livable and climate neutral? 27 pictures of the future tell about this.
• – At the end of Bonn4future, there should be the Bonn Climate Plan. Two major processes are paying off. An expert opinion commissioned by the city of Bonn and our Bonn4Future participation process. We want to have the plan for Bonn by the end of 2022. We want to know what has to happen when, who has to do what when?
• – Now in June 2022, we are working on good ideas for change. And specifically on the city’s biggest construction sites namely mobility and housing.

And here’s how we’re doing it today and tomorrow

Today, on Friday, you will hear from experts what goals we need to achieve in the area of housing and mobility and what that might look like. Scientists and administrators will answer your questions.

Tomorrow, Saturday is the day of good ideas and strategies

• We need you as experts for Bonn. We need your knowledge and experience to find out how we can achieve these goals in Bonn.
• You will work here in our transformation lab as a diverse Bonn group on change strategies for Climate Neutral Bonn.
• After 1.5 days you will have given each other over 2000 hours. You will then be experts for the challenges
•  And will work out recommendations how this big task can succeed and how we can inspire the other 336.000 citizens of Bonn for the change, what the city has to do, the economy, the media and the citizens.

I would like to dedicate this event to the children who have the confidence that we adults take good care of them.

And I am grateful for the unique opportunity we have here, namely to work together on the future. I wish you exciting experiences and many good ideas for the construction site in Bonn,

I wish you the courage to be imperfect, because that helps you to be happy.
