@COP 23: Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Bonn as model for emissions-free soil – improvement
Dank unseres sehr engagierten Forschungsteams hat es unser SoLaWi Projekt geschafft, ein Jahr lang wöchentlich 100 kg organischen Abfall zu sammeln, mit dem Lastenrad von Bolle Bonn und Elektroauto zu unserem Hof zu transportieren und dort zu kompostieren. Das ist dringend nötig, um den durch jahrelange konventionelle Landwirtschaft ausgelaugten Boden unseres Hofes wiederherzustellen. Ein so wieder angereicherter Boden ist nicht nur eine bessere Grundlage für Gemüseanbau, sondern dient auch als klimafreundlicher CO2-Speicher. Deshalb stand unser Poster auch bis gestern im Wissenschaftszentrum des People´s Climate Summit auf der Kennedyallee. Nun könnt Ihr es auch hier anschauen (English version below)
Thanks to our very active research team, our CSA project was able to collect weekly 100 kg organic waste over the last year and transport it by our Bolle-Bonn cargo-bike and electric car to our farm where it was composted and used to restore our farm´s soil. This was urgently needed due to the degradation of our soil after years of conventional industrial agriculture. Soil that is restored in such a way is not only essential for growing healthy organic food, but also sequesters larger amounts of CO2. This is why our poster was displayed at the research-centre of the People´s Climate Summit until yesterday and is now available here on our website.
